The heel of the blade has the SOLINGEN maker’s mark on the front (squirrel in an oval surrounded by an oval inscription: CARL EICKHORN SOLINGEN.
The decorative ornamentation on the blade was made in the form of a complex ornamental etching. The lower part of the blade depicts a sailing ship, above which is an admiralty anchor with a monarchical crown. Above the crown is a decoration in the form of a trophy battle weapon with military flags, a little higher is a decoration in the form of a plant ornament. The etched etching on the blade is very refined, because the background on the blade is matte and dark and the decorative elements are finely polished.
The scabbard is made from two identical sod halves of gilded brass with relief decoration. After hand finishing and applying relief ornaments, two identical halves were welded to the edges and necks were added to them, attached with two brass screws. On the upper part of the sheath are two decorative rings with relief ornaments in the form of a wreath of intertwined laurel leaves. The rings have welded lugs for hanging at height.
