It was assigned to generals and officers of infantry, artillery (except horse, horse-mountain and Cossack), engineering and railway troops, auxiliary units of headquarters (except for guards, cavalry and Cossacks), departments (except guards, cavalry, horse-artillery and Cossack), institutions and institutions of the military department (except for military training and Cossacks) for carrying out of service with marching uniforms. It was used during the First World War until 1917, after – in the White Armies.
Sabers were usually selected or made according to height, so the length could vary. Blades were made, as well as domestic workshops and ordered from Europe, more often German. The blade itself is of considerable curvature, with three narrow lobes. Closer to the base, they were decorated with an etched image of the State Emblem of Russia and the monogram of Nicholas II and nickel-plated.
The handle is ebony, with a brass device, similar to the handle of the officer's dragoon sword model 1881 / 1909. Sheath metal nickel-plated. A fairly rare sabre.
