Blade – straight, double-edged, featuring a deep off-center groove on each side (known as the anti-doll system). The point is elongated, with a diamond cross-section.

Handle – classic, with a T-shaped expansion at the base and a decorative pommel. The base of the handle consists of two horn plates attached to the blade’s tang with two metal rivets, and the rivets on the front side are adorned with silver (?) spherical caps with pointed tops. Beneath the caps are flat, rounded silver (?) washers with a dotted pattern. The pommel is stylized as a low palmette with three pointed petals.

Scabbard – wooden, covered with dark brown leather. The fittings are silver (?) and consist of two parts: the throat and the tip. The throat is oval, slightly narrowing towards the base, with a narrow collar at the lower part that has a round opening for a belt loop. The tip is elongated, ending in a rounded ball. The front side of the fitting is ornamented with a pattern of densely alternating leaves bordered with geometric and dotted designs.

Materials and manufacturing techniques: steel, horn, wood, leather, silver?; forging, grinding, polishing, engraving, basma.

Conclusion:

Based on visual and laboratory examinations, as well as historical documentation and comparative analysis (using samples from reference literature), it has been determined that the presented sample of cold weapons, based on its typological characteristics: construction, size, style of decoration, and decorative elements, is identified as a combat dagger made in Iran in the mid to late 19th century.

This type of dagger was also widespread in the southern Caucasus and was used by mountaineers during the Caucasian conflicts with the Russian army. It is relatively rare and holds cultural, historical, and artistic value.
