Japanese Shin-Gunto Sword of World War II, Model 1938
Blade: Crafted from steel with a slight traditional curve, polished to perfection.
Handle: Wooden, wrapped in samaegawa (stingray skin), bound with traditional ito (fabric).
Scabbard: Wooden field type in a brown leather cover with typical ashi (suspension fittings).
Configuration: Comes with scabbard, lacking the arc on the kabuto-gane.
Tang: Inscribed on both sides with unidentified kanji characters and bears the Tokyo Arsenal stamp No. 1 (established in 1936 from the reorganized Koishikawa Arsenal).
