The blade of the sword is steel, straight, three-edged, tapering to the point. The fighting end is of the needle type. In the upper part of the blade blade blade on both sides at 1/3 of the base is decorated with an engraved image of sprout ornament, as well as military armature. On the reverse side of the blade on the heel there is a stamp “Solingen”.
The handle is made of bronze and covered with gilding. It has a bent tip ending with an oblique cut. The connecting arch ends in an acanthus leaf and has a medallion in the form of a knight’s head in the middle, with an owl on the reverse side. In the center of the shield depicts a rooster with half opened wings and a loose tail (a symbol of the reign of Louis Philippe), standing on the cannon and next to him military trophies and flags, on the left side of the garde depicts a laurel branch. The cheeks of the hilt are made of mother-of-pearl (shows the status of the weapon and its owner).
Scabbard made of blackened leather with a brass gilded device, which consists of a mouth with a spike and a lug. The spike on the mouth is in the form of a button, decorated with an oval with a bead and floral ornament.

The French National Guard was created during the Revolution of 1789 as part of the new order that replaced the old monarchical regime. After numerous reforms and changes in different periods, the National Guard was reorganized during the reign of Napoleon I, and then again during the July Monarchy and the First Republic.
