✨ The Prussian saber of a Saxon/Bavarian mine official from World War I is a rare and unique example of an edged weapon that combines historical value with elegant design. The saber is made up of gilded brass and simple parts.
The handle is unadorned brass, blucher type. The hilt bears a detailed Prussian crown resting on a pair of crossed hammers. The pins that retain these insignia are pushed through the shield and can be seen from the opposite side. The handle is in a nice age patina.
The handle is covered with stingray leather in perfect condition, and the nice purple-blue color is still intact. It is also sheathed with triple silver twisted wire.
Metal scabbard painted in black color (native paint cracked over time) on the scabbard there is a clip with a fixed ring for the belt of the belt.
The saber blade is an example with an etching motif of floral patterns that have standard military themes. Drums, knapsacks, and horns are seen in these etching patterns .
The butt of the blade has convex laurel leaves and the maker’s mark “MOHR & SPEYER.BERLIN”.
The blade is in a minor patina.
