Description: The Soviet diving knife (drawing 1U-170) from the UVS-50 set is a massive and reliable tool created for underwater work. It is made according to the classic design of the early XX century, which emphasizes its functionality and durability.

The blade of the knife is long and solid, allowing for chopping strokes underwater where it is most effective. The tip of the blade is located on the center line, and the blade has aBowie-style semicircular escapement, which adds versatility while working. The blade is made of corrosion-resistant steel grade “4X13”, which provides long-term operation in conditions of constant contact with water.

A bronze-bladed version of the knife, which did not create magnetic fields, was also produced for bomb divers, allowing them to work with highly sensitive explosive devices.

The knife handle is made of rubber, has a weak barrel shape with 7 protruding rollers that ensure a secure grip even when wearing gloves. The crossguard and the tip are made of brass by stamping. The tip has a small “flush” on the side of the blade and a hole for attaching a safety cord. The scabbard is made of brass and has a simple but reliable design, which ensures quick retrieval of the knife in extreme conditions.
