The Second Empire from 1852 to 1870. Description Ovals in a frame of beads on the pommel and on the button of the scabbard mandrel. A beaded ring on a connecting bracket between two acanthus leaves. The cross ends with small fruits (grapes?). Garde cup carved with a lictor’s launch ending in a spade, framed by four flags and floral ornament. (J.G.).
